To those who call Cedar Grove home,

There are a few important updates we’d like to share with you.

First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who served the 120 children at VBS last week. What a joy it was to see the body of Christ in action! Whether you saw yourself as an eye, an ear, a foot, a hand—or even a nose—it took every part, working together in its unique giftedness, to make it all happen. Thank you!

Second, Alpha is coming this September, and we’re praying to see 50 unchurched people attend. Today, take a moment to write down five names—colleagues, friends, or neighbours—who don’t yet know Jesus. Write their names on paper, in your phone, or on your fridge, and begin praying daily that the Holy Spirit will prepare their hearts. When you invite them at the end of August, we’re believing they’ll say yes. Don’t limit what God can do—if you know they need Jesus, write their names down and start praying.

Finally, the past few weeks have brought some challenges. The sanctuary’s air conditioning went down, the dishwasher broke and is awaiting repair, and a pipe burst, requiring us to shut off the hot water (which has now been restored). It seems like something new pops up every time we turn around. While we don’t see evil in every corner, we do know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. Is Satan pleased that we’re praying daily this summer? That children are coming to Jesus? That we’re preparing for another Alpha season? Absolutely not. Your prayers are making a difference—keep pressing in!
