To those who call Cedar Grove home,
First, a big thank you to everyone who helped make the barbecue and ministry fair a success this past Sunday. Wow—when we gather and work together, we can accomplish so much. When you brought your hearts to the cross, I pray you heard Jesus’ voice saying, “I love you! You are mine, and I love you!”
Let’s continue praying for students and staff returning to school, as well as for our Child Development Centre team, who didn’t get a break all summer and have faithfully continued working with kids from our neighbourhood.
Second, this week we’re in the final planning stages for the upcoming town hall meetings, which will take place ahead of our covenant members meeting. We’ll also be releasing an annual report that you’ll be able to download and read.
If you have specific questions you'd like addressed, please send them to steve@the-grove.net, and we’ll do our best to answer them during one of the two town hall meetings. Each meeting will offer both a Zoom and in-person option—stay tuned for more details.
As we head into the fall, each of us—members and regular attendees alike—are invited to consider four key areas:
Dr. Rob Reimer, in his book Soul Care, writes:
“Life change occurs in an environment of true community. In true community, people live open, honest, and confessional lives in a culture of grace. There is no hiding or pretending.”
For Cedar Grove to embody this kind of community, we need you—in a life group, offering grace, and encouraging those who are struggling and seeking to understand God’s love.
Let’s keep working toward becoming that kind of community at Cedar Grove.
Serving together with you,
Pastor Steve

As we head into the fall, each of us—members and regular attendees alike—are invited to consider four key areas:
- Inviting others to Alpha: Let’s be bold in reaching out to those who don’t yet know Jesus. (Contact: sam@the-grove.net)
- Resuming regular tithing: If you paused giving over the summer, now’s the time to re-engage. We’re currently at 90% of our budget with four months left to cover expenses and begin planning for several capital projects.
- Joining a life group: Find a group where you can grow in community. (Contact: von@the-grove.net)
- Serving in ministry: Even small acts of service make a big impact. For example, we’d love to reopen the nursery for moms on Sundays, but we need 2–3 volunteers. Many ministries are in need of help—whether on Sundays or during the week. Sign up today, and we’ll help you find a place to serve. (Visit: Serving at Cedar Grove)
