The Cedar Grove Childcare Centre is looking for a ministry-minded bookkeeper who is excited about working in a workplace where they can positively impact a child’s future!  This individual would have a minimum of one year's bookkeeping experience, be an organized self-starter, able to meet deadlines, accommodate changing work demands and provide a high level of warm, friendly service to the Childcare Centre parents and staff.  This is a permanent part-time position (15 hours per week)  to start as soon as possible.  Hours of work are flexible.

This team member must be able to perform:


  • Full-cycle accounting functions with Quickbooks including:  Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger adjusting entries, Trial Balance and financial statement preparation
  • AR Pre-Authorized Debits
  • Bank Deposits
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Annual Budget Preparation
  • Management Reporting

Payroll & Benefits

  • Bi-weekly payroll timesheet entry, payroll advice distribution
  • EFT transmission
  • WCB Assessment and Reporting
  • Benefit Administration
  • Taxable Benefit Administration
  • T4 & T4A and Summary Preparation
  • ROE Completion and Remittance
  • Experience with ADP preferred

These Additional Skills would be an asset 

  • Experience with Accpac or Simply Accounting
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification
  • Experience with Provincial Childcare Subsidy Contract Management and Reimbursement Requests
  • Child Care Operating Fund Contracts


  • A current Criminal Record Check

Lights, Camera, Projection …

Looking for a few people to serve on Sunday mornings in the Sound Booth.  We would like to build two strong teams for services with extra opportunities to serve at events.  If you are computer savvy, know your way around a video camera, or have an eye for lighting please contact Patricia at either 604-581-8933 ext 247 or patricia@the-grove.net.   The ability to remain focused and work as part of a team is essential.  

Training provided for the following positions.

Camera Technician
Responsible for videotaping all elements of Sunday services.  Must be able to work with the Sound person to obtain good sound signals to the camera and with the Team Lead to ensure all elements of the service are covered.  Training will be provided.

Lighting Technician
Responsible for all lighting in the Worship Centre on a Sunday from the stage lighting to the house and overflow lights.  Working with a computer program you will set the stage and adjust lights as necessary for the different elements of the service.  The Lighting Technician will work directly with the Team Lead and Projectionist to ensure the best lighting for videos, baptisms, messages and worship.  Full training with Light Factory is provided.

Responsible for ensuring the correct slides or videos are up on the screens during the services.  Our Projectionists work primarily with Powerpoint and ProPresenter.  The Projectionist will work directly with the Team Lead and the Sound Person as well as the Lighting Tech to get slides or videos up at the correct times.  As well, the Projectionist will make adjustments and corrections to the slides as necessary.  Attention to detail is necessary in this position.  Training is provided.
