| Matthew
16:16-18
16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,[a]
the Son of the living God."
17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,
for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[b] and on this rock I
will build my church, and the gates of Hades[c] will not overcome it.[d]
Acts
2:38-41
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every
one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your
sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who
are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with
them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."
41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three
thousand were added to their number that day.
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens,
but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household,
20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with
Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to
become a holy temple in the Lord.
22 And in him you too are being built together to become a
dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Ephesians
5:25-27
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved
the church and gave himself up for her
26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water
through the word,
27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without
stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
