The Cedar Grove Children's Ministry (Kids@The-Grove) is looking for a ministry-minded and dedicated volunteer who is excited about working in an environment where they can positively impact a child’s future! This opportunity to serve can be either weekly or bi-weekly during 1st Service (8:45am-10:45am) in the Sprouts (Nursery) Classroom.

On-Call / Part time Janitor

We are looking for a On-Call/Part Time Janitor to take care of our building and carry out cleaning and security duties.  May lead to a permanent full time position.

  • Replacement for janitor who is on vacation or sick leave
  • Clean (vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, floor polishing, washroom cleaning and etc.) and replenish supplies on designated building areas
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and projects on occasional basis
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Notify Supervisor of occurring deficiencies or needs repair
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations


  • Physically fit and proven working experience as a janitor
  • Ability to handle and operate floor polisher and scrubber and carpet shampoo machine
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Integrity and ability to work independently
  • With BSW (Building Service Worker) training preferred

Lights, Camera, Projection …

Looking for a few people to serve on Sunday mornings in the Sound Booth.  We would like to build two strong teams for services with extra opportunities to serve at events.  If you are computer savvy, know your way around a video camera, or have an eye for lighting please contact Patricia at either 604-581-8933 ext 247 or   The ability to remain focused and work as part of a team is essential.  

Training provided for the following positions.

Camera Technician
Responsible for videotaping all elements of Sunday services.  Must be able to work with the Sound person to obtain good sound signals to the camera and with the Team Lead to ensure all elements of the service are covered.  Training will be provided.

Lighting Technician
Responsible for all lighting in the Worship Centre on a Sunday from the stage lighting to the house and overflow lights.  Working with a computer program you will set the stage and adjust lights as necessary for the different elements of the service.  The Lighting Technician will work directly with the Team Lead and Projectionist to ensure the best lighting for videos, baptisms, messages and worship.  Full training with Light Factory is provided.

Responsible for ensuring the correct slides or videos are up on the screens during the services.  Our Projectionists work primarily with Powerpoint and ProPresenter.  The Projectionist will work directly with the Team Lead and the Sound Person as well as the Lighting Tech to get slides or videos up at the correct times.  As well, the Projectionist will make adjustments and corrections to the slides as necessary.  Attention to detail is necessary in this position.  Training is provided.

Urgently Needed  |  One ministry minded, energetic, caring adult volunteer to provide one-to-one support service to a child with social/developmental needs in our Childcare Centre. You will be needed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9 - 11:30 (except during school holidays). This would suit a recently graduated ECE or similar student with the following qualifications and/or experience:

- Training and/or experience in the area of Special needs
- Well developed knowledge and skill in positive behaviour management
- Child development knowledge

Our children’s safety is very important to us, so you will be required to submit to a criminal record check.
