Worship, Prayer & Anointing
Wednesday, Aug 23 | 7 - 8:30 pm
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:13-16
Join us on Wednesday August 23 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a special Worship, Prayer & Anointing Service. It will be a time of individual prayer ministration, declaring of God’s promises, and anointing for healing and spiritual renewal in our lives. Come agree with the Cedar Grove prayer team for a miracle in your life!
Did you know that in the Old Testament, shepherds poured oil on the heads of their sheep so fleas couldn’t climb on the slippery wool, enter the sheep’s ears, and destroy the flock? This is a picture of what the anointing of oil, which stands for the Holy Spirit, represents in our lives—a symbol of God’s protection, favour, and mercy.
Scripture shows how the anointing of oil, as part of prayer, helps believers connect with God’s calling, purposes, and healing in a tangible way that activates faith (Ex. 29:7; Mark 6:13; 1 Sam. 16:13; Psalm 23:5; James 5:14). All needs and situations welcome because with faith all things are possible!
