Generational Ministries is a comprehensive grouping of programs focused on the second half of adult life. The programs offered are geared to suggested age levels, recognizing that individual health and energy may be large factors in determining where an individual wants to be involved. Specific ministries have been designed to meet needs either within an age group or that cross over all three.
Our vision is to seek the Lord, reach out to those who are not yet in the Kingdom, serve as “ministers” of the
Lord, all the while caring for each other and getting together for the betterment of one another in genuine
fellowship and relationship.
The weekly Drop-In Program is for all active adults among the congregation and within the community. Our purpose is fellowship, caring and education for both the participants and those we seek to reach, while being attentive to opportunities to share our faith in Jesus in an informal manner. Our participants include homemakers, shift-workers, and those on sick leave or with physical disabilities, as well as active retirees. Any adult who is available on Thursdays from September to June is welcome to attend. Cost is $7 each, or $30 for a 5-visit ticket, which covers all activities, lunch, and a morning snack. You are invited to drop-in when you are able to... “Come when you can, leave when you must.”
The Drop-In Program begins at 9:00am with the first activity session ending at 10:15am when we have a break for coffee, tea and snacks. The second activity session starts at 10:45am and finishes at 11:45am when we prepare for a delicious hot lunch followed by a guest speaker or musical feature. We have a number of options available in each session including Bible studies, carpet bowling, pickle ball, table games, jigsaw puzzles, knitting & crocheting, and seminars. The Drop-In Program ends by 1:30pm at the latest. We invite all adults in the second half of life to come and check out the Generational Ministries we have for them.

Join us on Saturday, May 12 at 5:45pm in the Fireside Room. The evening starts with a potluck dinner, then a time of worship, followed by guest speaker Kristiina Vuorensivu. She is a professional counsellor who serves at Cedar Grove Church along with her husband, Pastor Michael, in the Recovery Ministry. Her topic, Life is a Healing Journey, comes from the perspective of someone who amidst crisis, came to know Jesus. With a powerful story of God's grace and redemption, Kristiina is a Christian first who openly places her professional training as a "registered clinical counsellor" well below the wisdom that comes from God's word. Come hear about her own story as well as how her faith in Christ impacts the work she does with people facing every kind of hurt and struggle in life. For more information, contact Elaine at 604-951-3850.
