Ed  and Patty are presently serving in Burkino Faso, where they are travelling and encouraging villagers. There is widespread famine in the area he is visiting. We are still in Bobodioulasso here in Burkina Faso.

May / June 2010 Update

I just returned from a long trip via road to Ivory Coast Ghana Togo Benin and Nigeria. I participated in a refresher course for Nigerian missionaries which went well. It was physically taxing but spiritually invigorating. Pray for the two mission groups in Nigeria by the names of Ethnos and Heirs of God as they are building a training center to prepare more missionaries to take the gospel to the regions beyond. I also met with David Gagni in Ghana who is the founder of another mission that is just getting started called HIs Vision Mission. They also are looking to the Lord to raise up missionaries out of Ghana that will complete the task of reaching the yet unreached areas of West Africa. Shortly after returning got sick with malaria and am inthe middle of recuperating from that. We also will need  to move within the next  coupl emonths so will be house searching once again.  I hope to make a trip also before too long to Tougbo where we lived fro 15 years and to work amongst the Dogose of Southern Burkina. I would take Kassoum my Komono brother in the Lord to do this. Shied of Faith is also still trying to find a way to hook up with a Canadian mission sothat we willbe able to receive donations from Canada . We appreciate your prayers!  In Him, Ed and Patty

Please remember to pray for our preparations to go to Nigeria. I will be sharing  with the National missionanries.  Pray that I  will be an encouragement to them.

Also susequent trips planned to go with my Komono brother in the Lord to go to Dogose vilages here in S Burkina to share the Word. It will be very hot and rustic conditions and we will be sleeping in tents. Pray for open doors and that God would prepare hearts. Also some type of ministry for Patty while I am on the road.

Thanks for your support to us in this way.

Greetings Cedar Grove:

We trust the New Year has begun for you in a happy way.  Allis well here and wanted to respond to your request for some info. We have moved twice in the last one a half months so that has taken up some time. We are nowin a more economical situation but still have all that we need.

We are still in Bobodioulasso here in Burkina Faso and will be forthe next few months at least.

Presently I have been getting materials together to do some sharingat a missionary refresher course for Nigerian nationals that we will beplanning to attend in May; so that is a prayer item. The refresher course willlast 2 weeks.

I have been invited to attend another believers conference for the Loma  people in Northern Ivory Coast which is still under rebel control. This would be very much in the bush and quite rustic. It will be held in Feb ;so I am contemplating on attending that as well.

I also hope to go with Kassoum my old Komono language helper and brother in the Lord now to visit some of the villages of the Dogose people insouthern Burkina some time before heading to Nigeria. The Dogose people are100% Muslim and 100% unreached. So as we go keep us in prayer as these folks are quite resistant to the gospel so far.

Also pray for a man named Florent. He attends our lacal church here but last year moved to a village of the Tusianpeople here in Burkina who also are predominantly Muslim. I spent some time with him on Sunday and gave him a book that would help him to be able to teachthe people there as he says there are some who want to hear the teachings of the Bible. Otherwise he is the only believer in the village.

Well that should give you some idea of our up to date situation and we appreciate your interest in this the greatest job in the world that never suffers from unemployment but is usually understaffed.

In Him Ed and Patty
