Rwanda, Village of Hope

Starting August 2010, their primary goal is to assist Elsie and Nicholas Hitimana who are working with those who reside in the Village of Hope, to bring healing, reconciliation and community transformation to their people through spiritual care and food security programs.

Prayer Requests:

1. Callixte (a high school student who lives at the Village of Hope) was hit by a car. Pray for complete healing broken ribs and possible head injuries. Pray for strength for his mother and siblings as they support him through his recovery.

2. Pray for Rachel's health. She has suffered a second bout of bronchitis. Pray that she would fully recover and regain the weight she has lost.

3. Pray for strength, wisdom, focus and direction in our ministry.

4. Financial provision.

Kigali, Rwanda

The Jelsmas have been serving in Kigali, Rwanda since October 2008. They are working to set up and run the medical clinic that Cedar Grove is helping to build with CLA of Rwanda as well as being involved in teaching ministries in farming and primary health care.

Prayer Requests

1. PRENATAL MINISTRY beginning in Nyabisindu (where the grenade killed 2 and injured many) in a few weeks.

• volunteers needed for this.
• details to still needed to come together for this.
• Thanks to God for the official permit to do the student prenatal ministry.

2. CLINIC REQUESTS

• for good progress in the construction.
• finances to finish this project ($2-300,000 incuding equipment and ambulance) needed.
• Planning and communication for the Cedar Grove team coming in March to Rwanda in March.

I am on a mission’s trip with an organization called YWAM. We will be focusing on all of the host cities for the Olympics in the UK.

Prayer Requests

- That more students would apply for the January DTS
- That there would be unity amongst the team and amongst the staff on the base
- That God would give me his discernment and wisdom
- That I would find time each day in the midst of a busy schedule to get away from everyone and connect with God
- That there would be a vulnerability and depth of relationship amongst the DTS staff.

Asia

AJ are serving in Asia in a variety of projects ranging primarily Organic Farming. They produce just under two tonnes of food per month on their farm and hope to sign contracts with thirty local farmers in the near future which will greatly increase the capacity of the farm.

~for health, safety and finances.

~for wisdom as they give direction to many projects.

West Africa

Ed  and Patty are presently serving in Burkino Faso, where they are travelling and encouraging villagers. There is widespread famine in the area he is visiting. We are still in Bobodioulasso here in Burkina Faso.

Prayer Requests:

- For the process of soliciting land in this community (Hacienda Tutultepeque). I have been told that it could take up to three months. Please pray for the Lord’s favour in this area.

- As I write a small proposal for the Co-Op and a group of about 140 people will make the decision whether they will give me land or not.

- Open doors as I seek to share the good news.

- Relationship building – especially the friendships the Lord has provided me with, that I would act in wisdom and that I would have good and clear boundaries.

Please pray that these kids at camp would not doubt their decisions and what God taught them at camp.  Pray that they may have the courage and strength to stand up for what is truth and not fall back into old habits.  This will be challenging as most of them are going back to difficult living situations.
